Africana
This is appropriated board game ‘Africana’ that fascinates and amazed me, mainly for its content and the interpretation towards the historical connection with exploring and exploiting Africa.
the actual game of Africana entails, players travel through Africa for a mission, players choose a card that represents countries like British, France, Italy, taking part in expeditions and trying to be the first to reach various destinations and reward a resource (gold, silver, or kind of treasure) from the destination. With the money they earn, they can buy adventure cards that earn them precious antiques. That for me seems, perfect parallel reflection that recall records of colonialism. So, I start to make another replica with intent to redesign and contextualize it to create a possible counter narration, unlike what the actual game perpetuates
